By and large, local governments continue to make choices about who deserves access to high-quality, affordable, and consistent healthcare – perpetuating the very inequities we exist to address.
Local, private healthcare systems are still too expensive for the majority of the population. And, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, global poverty levels are increasing for the first time in 30 years. Recent estimates conclude that poverty could rise to over one billion people globally as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.
Public systems are still overcrowded, underfunded, and lack the basic supplies for consistent care. Preventable disasters and diseases continue to plague too many of our brothers and sisters in need.
Our vision is rooted in our twelve years of experience working alongside communities to make sure the place you’re born does not dictate your access to healthcare.
We bear an incredible responsibility to alleviate the inequities our brothers and sisters are facing—and dream to build a better system that gives everyone an opportunity to have a healthy, fulfilling life. And, we’re ready to lead the way in making it happen.

Our monthly Sustainers make things happen! Your monthly gift sustains and expands our impact by providing life-saving care to those who need it most.
While serving from a distance, you are able to support and empower OneWorld Health’s local healthcare professionals with the resources they need to meet a need in a sustainable and safe way. For every $5 you give, we can cover the costs of providing crucial care for one patient. Each day of outreach, we serve more than 100 patients per country. Your generosity empowers us to give care that will make a meaningful difference.

Our healthcare project costs vary depending on project type and location, but represent an opportunity for lasting impact. On average, projects start at $10,000 and can cost $100,000 or more. Bring care and healing to our brothers and sisters in need through a short-term volunteer trip.
Do you feel called to bring care and healing to the people of the developing world? We are looking for hardworking individuals who believe change is possible not just for a week, but for a lifetime.
Several times a year, OneWorld Health sends teams of short-term medical and non-medical volunteers to serve the communities surrounding our project sites. During the development phases of our medical centers, these teams provide consistent care to the region, build a foundation of quality care and advocate for the clinic that is to come. Once our medical centers are in operation, these teams support the centers by continuing to provide quality care, training and patient referrals. OneWorld Health’s short-term trips pave the way for the success of our long-term projects.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have temporarily paused travel and volunteer trips. We’re collecting interest for resuming travel in early 2022.
